Industrial panel

Image

The Department of Computer Science Industrial Panel is made up of volunteers from organisations outside QMUL who have an interest in the work of the department and are willing to give a small amount time to promote links between commerce and academia. An important goal of the panel is to review the teaching curriculum from the perspective of a graduate employer and assist the department with curriculum development to maintain its relevance to IT employers.

The panel meets about once a year. Between meetings occasional updates are sent by an electronic mailing list, which also allows those unable to attend meetings to provide feedback. Some members of the panel also give talks to students as part of our aim of bringing industrial examples into the teaching programme. Panel members may also work for organisations offering opportunities for student placements or industry-related students projects.
