Campus
The Department is at the West end of the campus -
building number 25 on the Campus Map.
Access to the Department is via the brick and glass stair tower at the
front of the building. The Department's Teaching Laboratory
(ITL) is adjacent to the tower - building
number 27 on the map.
Local Area
Queen Mary and Westfield is situated in the heart of London's East End, a vibrant
multi-cultural area only 20 minutes by tube from the West End. Nearby Brick
Lane is famous for its eclectic market, Indian restaurants and 24-hour bagel
shops. Columbia Road flower market attracts visitors from all over London,
as do exhibitions at the Chisenhale and Whitechapel Art Galleries. The Bethnal
Green Museum of Childhood is a branch of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Nearby Spitalfields, Shoreditch and Hoxton have become famous for a lively
artistic community.
Travel
By tube take the Central Line to Mile End station,
or take the District Line or the Hammersmith & City Line to
Stepney Green station;
By bus take the number 25 (Oxford Circus to Ilford)
and get off near Bancroft Road. There are a number of
other services stopping within five minutes' walk of the site,
including the 277 (Highbury and Islington to Canary Wharf) and
Docklands services, for DLR and other travel information, please refer to the
College website.

Seminars
Seminars are usually held
in room CS/338 in the department; access is through the
Student Union entrance on Bancroft Road (building
25 on the Campus Map). However, time
and place may vary, so check either with the departmental
office (020 7882 5200) or on the main seminar page.
