Its blend of culture and heritage really attracted me.end of quote

What are you currently doing?
"I am an Analytics Application Developer for Merrill Lynch Commodities Europe. I develop and maintain data systems for commodities analysis and modelling. I employ the rapid application development methodology in developing ad-hoc solutions to user requests. This usually involves .NET development using a wide range of technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, and MS SQL Server database development. User requests are prioritised according to criticality and then dealt with accordingly; this sometimes involves a lot of juggling around, and quick changes of direction. No one day has been the same as a previous one and I am constantly being challenged technically to find and develop optimal solutions."

What is your current salary bracket:
"I am paid a competitive salary with the market."

Why did you choose Queen Mary?
"Its blend of culture and heritage really attracted me. Along with its location, these were the key factors that attracted me to Queen Mary."

What did you gain from your time at Queen Mary?
"I gained much knowledge in the field of Computer Science. I built friendships with some dynamic and brilliant minds, inside and outside my faculty. I learnt, and built upon, many transferable key skills, which have proved invaluable to me at work. Learning the steps of the software development life cycle allow me to leverage technologies accordingly. Of most value, are the analytical skills and problem-solving techniques that became inherently routine during my time at Queen Mary."

Career plans?
"Phew, it's been a whistle-stop tour so far! Finishing university and then starting work has been an exciting time for me. In terms of the future, I am going to take it as it comes, have already experienced New York. Perhaps, back to the US at some time in the near future."
