Since I was awarded my Ph.D. in 1997 from Institute of Remote Sensing Applications, Chinese Academy of Sciences, I worked with Prof Qingyun Shi at Center for Information Science, Peking University for several years, as a lecturer then as an associate professor two years later. At the beginning of 2000, I worked as a visiting scientist with Prof Maria Petrou at CVSSP, University of Surrey. Also in 2000, I was selected as one of the winners of the National Excellent Doctoral Dissertations, China, by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education. In June 2001, I came to Queen Mary, University of London, and worked on the Prometheus project as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Yakup Paker. One year later, I was appointed as a lecturer here.

I am the author of PLUS factorisation of matrices. As an expert in image coding, one of my techniques has been included in JPEG 2000, the new international standard for image coding.

Recently, we have developed a novel mathematical representation of CFAs, which makes analysis of all the CFAs easy, simple and visual, and based on that, a design methodology is developed for new CFAs. Some results can be found here:

I love my science, and I love my China (O=O).
